If you’re in the DC area it’s been difficult not to marvel at the blossoming white-pink petals this past week. The hardy Yoshino cherry blossoms survived rough winter weather this year and make even the foggiest days in our nation’s capital lovely.

March Madness: Gear Up for Final Four

KeVaughn Allen #5 of the Florida Gators during a game against the South Carolina Gamecocks during the 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament held at Madison Square Garden on March 26, 2017 in New York City.

It began with 68 teams. This past Sunday, March 26, it came down to the final four. NCAA basketball teams compete first within their regions: East, South, Midwest, and West. With each set of games the bracket gets smaller and smaller: Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, and now the Final Four. Tomorrow, April 1, South Carolina will go head to head with Gonzaga while Oregon faces off against North Carolina. If you’ve been watching the games or at least catching glimpses, you can’t help but be impressed. The players’ stamina and talent, underdog stories, and full court shots have entranced audiences these past few weeks. We have high hopes for edge of our seat excitement for the last games.

And So It Begins…

On March 29, British Prime Minister Theresa May announced to the House of Commons that Article 50 had been triggered in London. She added that there would be “no turning back” after formally notifying the EU of Britain’s intention to end its 44-year membership of the bloc. Even though a vote decided Brexit, the country is torn in the decision, especially Scotland who is looking into breaking from the UK and remain within the EU as an independent nation.
