World Leaders Meet in Europe

German Chancellor Angela Merkel (R) and British Prime Minister Theresa May gave statements to the media prior to bilateral talks between the two countries on November 18, 2016. The two leaders are meeting at the tail end of talks today between U.S. President Barack Obama and five western European leaders.

Mining Accident in Turkey

Families of miners react as rescue workers searching for trapped miners on November 18, 2016 at the accident site in Siirt province, Southeastern Turkey.

On November 18, 2016, Turkish rescue workers were battling to save 13 miners trapped after the collapse of a copper mine, already confirmed to have left at least three dead. The mine is located in the southeastern Siirt province. The Siirt governor’s office said that two of three bodies, recovered after the accident late Thursday, had already been identified.

Governor Nikki Haley Speaks at National Lawyers Convention

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley spoke during the 2016 National Lawyers Convention, sponsored by the Federalist Society, in Washington, D.C. on November 18, 2016. Haley is the Republican governor of South Carolina. Her name has been floated as a possible pick for a leading role in the Trump administration.
