When we feel safe, we trust. I no longer feel safe. My country doesn’t look like the country that I believed it was and I am mourning. Hot tears are always close and I am not a woman who cries easily.

I am retired and on a limited income. I am considering moving out of the country to a more affordable place, one of the options being an ex-pat town in Mexico, or a town in rural Italy.

In seven years I've had ten addresses in seven states. I'm not a fugitive, I'm an Air Force veteran married to an Active Duty Air Force officer. I've had many blank moments at gas stations when prompted to enter my zip code, the numbers blending together on the most tiring of days. Yet, over all this time, with all these moves, I've learned a lot about myself and the world. I'd like to share a few of the lessons.
